The principal common efforts of ELLC are directed to;

(1) the continuation of collaborative preparation of common liturgical texts, whether by way of translation and revision or through the composition of original liturgical texts as may seen desirable to the member associations and their churches

(2) the exchange of information concerning Christian worship and liturgical developments as provided by the member associations and through them by the individual churches, which have established the associations and to which the associations report;

(3) the undertaking of non-textual liturgical projects, such as orders of readings and ritual actions, for the consideration and potential use of the member associations and their churches; and

(4) outreach to associations or bodies or to churches that are not English speaking, concerning liturgical developments and projects not necessarily or directly involving liturgical texts.
